How does it work?

Hayskansasweather.com operates a Midland WR300 NOAA Weather Radio set to Channel 3 (162.450MHz) to receive NOAA station WXM35 broadcasting from Dodge City,Kansas with 300 Watts of power. An audio cable is fed from the output of the radio to the line-input on the weather station PC . Software by Edcast encodes a 16Kbps MP3 stream and sends it to the WeatherUnderground making it available worldwide.
